Love and romance
Garden roses have dense, layered petals and a real fragrance, a look close to peonies. They keep opening as they drink and usually look their best about four days after going into water.
Children: Not poisonous if a child tastes it; just mind the thorns.

How to care for it
- Remove any cardboard collar right away; the heads keep expanding and can be crushed.
- Use a wide vase, because full heads bruise easily.
- Change the water and re-cut stems every two days, and keep away from fruit.
Did you know? Many of today’s garden-rose varieties come from the English breeder David Austin.
