Love
The rose is the world’s most requested flower and comes in countless colours. Most modern cut varieties have only a light scent; they are chosen for their form and long vase life.
Children: Not poisonous if a child tastes it; just mind the thorns.

How to care for it
- Strip leaves below the waterline but keep the upper foliage; it helps the stem drink.
- If a head droops, re-cut the stem and put it straight into fresh water with flower food.
- Keep roses away from fruit bowls: the ethylene gas from ripening fruit stops them opening and makes petals drop.
Did you know? Roses belong to the same plant family as apples, pears and peaches.
