Beauty
Calla has a simple, elegant shape: a smooth cup on a straight stem. Despite its English name it is not a true lily, and it lasts longer in a vase than in floral foam.
Children: Chewing it causes burning and swelling of the mouth and throat, and the sap irritates skin. Keep it away from small children.
Pets: Causes mouth irritation, drooling and vomiting in pets if eaten.

How to care for it
- Hold it by the stem, not the flower; the cup bruises easily.
- Stem ends may split and curl in water; that is harmless. A band of clear tape prevents it.
- Check the water level daily, and note the sap can stain clothes.
Did you know? Calla belongs to the same family as anthurium, not the lily family.
