Purity
A lily stem carries 2 to 6 blooms that open one after another, so it lasts around two weeks. Oriental lilies fill a room with scent; Asiatic and LA lilies are light or scentless.
Children: Can upset the stomach if eaten, and the sap can irritate skin. Keep it out of small children’s reach.
Pets: Very dangerous for cats: every part of the lily, even the pollen and the vase water, can cause kidney failure. If you have a cat, keep lilies out of the house.

How to care for it
- Remove the yellow pollen anthers with a tissue as each flower opens; pollen stains and is dangerous to cats.
- Remove yellowing leaves, and pick stems with closed buds so they open over several days.
- Change the water every two days and re-cut the stem at an angle.
Did you know? An oriental lily bloom can reach about 20 cm across.
